A Quick Update - The next General Membership meeting will be held on Friday night July 11, 2008 at 7:00 pm at the Phoenix Bar Upstairs.   The House of Lords meeting will begin at 6:00 PM at 1910 North Rampart. 

Beer Bust - Our Beer Bust are occurring on the 2nd Friday night at the Phoenix Bar. Congratulations to the Phoenix bar on its new ownership and in partnering with the Lords of Leather for a portion of our events.  Our new Video Beer/Soda Bust is drawing quite a crowd.

Mr. Louisiana Leather 2008 - Congratulations to Michael Albracht for his win at Mr. Louisiana Leather 2008. The krewe would like to thank everyone who contributed their time and effort to make Southern Decadence such a great success for the krewe.    

Congratulations - The Lords of Leather are proud to announce that Lord George Hester has received Pantheon of Leather's Southeast Leatherperson of the Year during ceremonies held February 17, 2007.  Also announced was recipient of Pantheon of Leather West Coast Leather Person of the Year, Mr. George Wong, a long time friend and valued associate of our krewe.  Congratulations to both of these leathermen.  Also in other Carnival 2007 events, Lord Danny Starns receives the honor of King Cake Queen XIV and Baron George Tresch is crowned King of the Krewe of Amon Ra. 

More Congratulations - The Lords of Leather Bal Masque XXIII was awarded 'Best Mardi Gras Ball' during the 2006 Gay Appreciation Awards. This marks the third year in a row the krewe has received this honor.  Also congratulations to Lord Todd Cole for being awarded "Gay Person of the Year" and to Viceroy Mina Hernandez for being awarded "Leather Person of the Year."  We congratulate all the winners. Also thanks to Rip and Marsha at Ambush Magazine for their continued support of our krewe.

Even More Congratulations - More of our 'we knew them when' category congratulations go out to Solitaire Russell newly crowned as Miss Louisiana Leatherette 2008.  She also was 1st runner up in Miss Louisiana Leatherette 2005 and holds the title of  Ms. Southeast Leather Fest (SELF).  She's got her sights on IMsL later in 2008 and we wish her the best!.  Look for her pictures soon.  Another outstanding friend of the krewe, Savanna DeLorean (Miss Louisiana Leatherette 2004) is the newly crowned Miss Gay Louisiana America.  Savanna also finished in the top 10 at Miss Gay America 2007 in Memphis. 

Hurricane Relief - Unique in its inception and scope the Lords of Leather Hurricane Relief Fund continues to grow. Read the story. The fund recently received several sizeable donations from across the country.  Plans are underway for renewed efforts as the 2006/07 hurricane season is upon us.  A special thank you to the Kansas City Pioneers and their partnering clubs in their fundraising for the krewe and other New Orleans Leather clubs.  Also to the Panther L/L of Atlanta for their monetary support during their Prowl XVII weekend.  To our friends at MAC (Mid Atlantic Conference of Clubs) for their continued monetary support and friendship. I cannot forget our special and unique friends at www.fetishauctioneer.com for providing substantial monetary assistance to our organization as we try to recover.  Also to the entire organization surrounding International LeatherSIR & Leatherboy for their monetary support of our krewe during this time. The task is not completed as some news organizations are reporting nor do we intend to close our doors. Even though some of our members remain scattered across the country we will continue to move ahead with plans for our future.  I know several members that have made life altering decisions based on their own situations in the aftermath and I encourage them in their future plans.
