Bal Masque XVII     "Lights, Camera, Action"

March 15, 2000       St. Bernard Cultural Center       Chalmette/New Orleans

The krewe welcomed the millennium with Lights, Camera and Action.  This tribute to hollywood and it's icons was enjoyed by all attendees.  Ball Captain Danny Alford imagined and executed a spectacular tableau filled with dramatic interpretations of film greats. As tradition dictates Lord King XVI, Lord Gregory Cane and Lord Consort XVI were received by the crowd and took their thrones to view the ball.  Costumes included The Bride of Frankenstein, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Paramount Studios, Singing in the Rain, Star Wars,  Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, Universal Studios, The Will Rogers Follies, and the Wizard of Oz.  The ball included to tribute to krewe member Jared Campo as his last costume was presented on stage.  The Millennium Ball's Royalty entered the ballroom in a dramatic fashion. Lord King XVII, Lord Damon Veach and Lord Consort XVII Lord Sam Favaro began their reign as the grand march closed the ball.
