Ball Mask
XXIII
February 26, 2006
Sunday Evening 8 - 10 PM
Our current reigning Royalty, Lord King XXII Alan
M. and Lord Consort XXII Keith I. presided over an evening of dinner
and dancing. A live jazz band from Los Angeles provided music
to dance throughout the evening. Also Kenny M., our special krewe
friend, provided his own DJ talents for the night. A full
dinner and desert buffet allowed the guests to feast on some of New
Orleans finest food specialties.
A 'Super Sunday' Parade composed of the Krewe of Bacchus
and the "rescheduled" Krewe of Endymion rolled down
Canal Street during the course of the event. The "glass walled"
Napoleon Ballroom provided a unique vantage point to view this
spectacular Carnival Parade.
A special moment and highlight of the evening
occurred with the guests raised almost $3000.00 for the Hurricane
Relief Fund. Many thanks from the krewe members for all who
contributed. Commemorative pins were handed out by krewe members to
their table guests and also sold to other guests ONLY during
this one event.
Special thanks to:
Lord
Timm Holt, the Lord of Misrule (Ball Captain)
Lord Danny Alford, Lord Temporal
(Ball Lieutenant)
and all the other krewe members
and volunteers who helped with the event.
Thanks also to the staff of the Sheraton Hotel
in New Orleans for hosting this event
only months after the devastation of
Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans during August of 2005.
